I'm Back

I'm back home. I actually got back home on Tuesday, but spent Wednesday trying to get settled back into things. We had a great time. I'm glad we took the earlier flight on Thursday - the Bay Bridge was closed down for 6 hours, and if we left any later, we would have missed our plane. My niece was very surprised and excited to be going. She had no idea at all! We flew out of Baltimore, and by the time we got to All Star Music, it was about 10:30 p.m. - too late to go to Downtown Disney. So we just ate dinner at the resort and did some shopping there.

Friday we got up and went over to Magic Kingdom. The park was pretty empty for the first few hours, so we got on a bunch of the rides, including Big Thunder, which we went on 3 times before we actually had to get off of the ride! We hung out there for most of the day, then headed to Downtown Disney for some shopping, then over to Epcot. Unfortunately Test Track (or crash test dummies as we call the ride) was closed. But we got to ride Mission Space several times, and did the new Nemo ride over there.

Saturday we got up early and headed to MGM. The first ride - Tower of Terror (like it could be anything else!). We did that a few times, then rode Rock 'n Roller Coaster a few times, then back to ToT. Then we hit all of the other rides and shows except for The Little Mermaid (we ran out of time). We decided to do Fantasmic on Monday, during the late hours. We hit Tot and RnRC a few more times before the park closed. Total count that day - Tot - 13; RnRC - 5!

On Sunday we headed over to Epcot. Test Track was still closed, but we got a fast pass because they were expecting it to open at some point. We did Mission Space a few more times, rode Soarin', then went over to the World Pavilion part and walked through all of that. Then we went back to Mission Space and rode that again, and finally Test Track was open! The line wasn't too bad so we stood in line for it, then used our fast pass to go through it again. Then we headed over to Magic Kingdom and did more of the rides there and watched Wishes. I love seeing those fireworks! Around 11:00 we went on Splash Mountain and it got stuck twice, so we were on there for about 45 minutes. They did give us a free fast pass that is good at MK until August of 2007 (so when can I go back there to use it?!?). So we hit Pirates one last time before the park closed.

Monday was the long day. Animal Kingdom was open early, so we went there first and got a fast pass for Mt. Everest. However, the line was pretty short, so we rode that 5 times before deciding to do something else. We also were able to get a second fast pass for that ride. We did the safari ride, Dinosaur, some of the shows, and the rapids before heading back to Everest for 2 more rides. Then it was back to MGM. We went on more of the rides (ToT and RnRC among them) and saw The Little Mermaid and Fantasmic. The last ride we went on was Tower of Terror. We decided not to stay until they closed (1:00 a.m.) since we had to be at the shuttle at 3:45 a.m. for our ride home.

Total counts:
Pirates - 3
Big Thunder - 4
Mission Space - 4
Mount Everest - 6
Rock n Roller Coaster - 10
Tower of Terror - 18

Not too bad! I just finished downloading my photos - I only took about 500 of them. My niece brought her camera, but left it in the room the whole time! You should have seen me during the fireworks - I was taking pictures with both of my cameras, one after the other - pretty funny!

Of course, then it was back home and to the grindstone. But that's another post.
